BandCheck (the "Service") provides automated AI evaluation of IELTS Writing and Speaking responses. It is available as a Telegram bot at @bandcheck_bot, as a personal web app at app.bandcheck.app, and as a school portal at school.bandcheck.app. The Service uses third-party AI providers to estimate band scores and produce feedback.
Results are estimates only and are NOT an official IELTS score. Your actual exam result may differ. The Service is provided for educational practice; it is not a substitute for official IELTS preparation, tutoring, or assessment.
On the bot, your Telegram account identifies you. On the web, you can create a personal account using Sign in with Google; we receive your email address and name from Google to create and secure your account. School accounts (owners, teachers, students) are issued a username and password by their school administrator. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
Inside the Telegram bot, paid packages are charged via Telegram Stars. On the web, payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), who is the seller on record, handles the transaction, and is responsible for billing and applicable taxes. Card details are entered on Dodo's secure checkout; we do not store your card data.
One-time credit packs. Credits are granted automatically on successful payment. Personal credits do not expire while your account is active. Each credit grades one Writing or Speaking submission.
Subscriptions. A subscription (Full Prep) is billed on a recurring basis (monthly) and renews automatically until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise Dodo Payments to charge your payment method each billing period at the then-current price. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period, and you will not be charged again. To cancel, use the management link in your payment receipt from Dodo Payments, or contact us via /support and we will assist.
Schools. Organisations may purchase shared credit pools by card or request an invoice; pooled credits are spent by the organisation's students.
Personal plans & fair use. Personal plans (Full Prep, Sprint) are for a single learner's own practice and include fair-use limits — up to 80 checks per week and no more than 10 per 5 hours. Using a personal account to grade other people's work (for example, a tutor grading students, or a class sharing one account) is not permitted; teachers and language centres should use a School plan.
Refunds. Refund requests for verifiable technical issues (e.g., AI service downtime, double charges, bugs that consumed credits without delivering feedback) are reviewed on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Used checks where feedback was delivered are generally non-refundable, as compute cost was incurred. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method via Dodo Payments (web) or Telegram Stars (bot). Consumer cancellation/withdrawal rights granted by your local jurisdiction (such as the EU Consumer Rights Directive) remain in effect where applicable.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be announced inside the bot.
BandCheck is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by British Council, IDP IELTS, or Cambridge English Language Assessment. IELTS is a registered trademark of its respective owners. Telegram is a trademark of Telegram FZ-LLC.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of operation. Consumer rights granted by your local jurisdiction (such as EU CRD or similar) remain in effect where applicable.
