Band 5.5

Prompt: "Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programs (for example, working for a charity, improving the neighborhood, or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree?"

Nowadays, whether some free services must be embedded in the high school schedule or not has sparked a contentious issue. I strongly agree that this kind of plan has to be added to students’ programs, as it can raise their sense of responsibility and can also develop total community growth. The following paragraphs will further elaborate on these reasons. Being taught how to participate in cooperative plans at school, students can learn how to assist their peers, boosting their sense of responsibility and accountability. For instance, fulfilling assistance on time and completely not only can strengthen their accountability, but these also enhance their social acquired skills. Moreover, having trained pupils to participate in unpaid community services, society would have potential access to a skillful human resource in different areas in the long term. In the future, these trained human resources would conspicuously support the community in a widespread spectrum, for example, sports, social, and cultural activities, consequently building up general society growth. Generally, making unpaid community service mandatory in pedagogical systems has led to a controversial discourse. I advocate that implementing this plan would highly be beneficial for students and societies.
