Band 5.5

Prompt: It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement ?

Opinions differ as to whether it is important to save money for every situation at any time, while some individuals argue is better to live from paychek to paychek an have fun, others believe that citizens should save money for their future. I clearly concur with this latter view, chiefly because I believe that individuals should be aware of economic downturn which can affect their purchassing power at any time and plan tuitions fees of their children.

The first reason for my position is that, in our modern society there are a lot of underpriviledge families which have not a higher disposable income, living in a poor situation largely due to socioeconomic disparties. Thereby, teenagers living in this situation should start early to save money for their studies and tuition fees, if they parents experience a financial hardship due to a lower disposable income. In the United States for instance, many underpriviledge families living with a lower budget and can not offer the tuition fees of they children universities, as a result young people should start early to work during summer to save money for their future.

A further consideration is that, citizens should save money on their bank account to have a safety net for every kind of situation such as economic downturn or international crisis. Consequencly, a growing number of underpriviledge families experience by far the first impact of these situation, this makes a toll on citizens with financial hardship. In France, to illustrate this latter view, during the international pandemic of COVID 19, many employees have been laid off largely due to a lowest economic activities, as a result many individuals lived with a small income over the 2-year period. Admittedly, the French government has subsidised different activities which were affected by the pandemic, however, this financial aid has not helped every worker.

In conclusion, taking this point into account, I firmely believe individuals, especially underpriviledge families have to save money for their children to pay they universities tuition fees and have a safety net which is crucial for every situation.
