Prompt: The graph below shows the average monthly change in the prices of three metals during 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph depicts the mean change in prices of copper, nickel and zinc per month. Based on the information that the graph provides, nickel faces a sharp decline throughout the year whereas copper remains almost constant over the months. Adding on, zinc prices increases by one percent.
Firstly, the prices of nickel decrease by nine percent in June if compared to its cost in the beginning of the year. Then, it increases slightly over a period of six months and stabilises. Moreover, nickel and zinc do not show dramatic fluctuation in 2014. This means that the cost of copper did face some decline in prices till mid year but it eventually increases upto 1.5%. In the same way as copper, zinc prices work their way up a little over the year by one percent.
In conclusion, nickel was the only metal that faced intensive price changes over the months. Along with this, copper and zinc metal prices did not fluctuate much but did show some increment towards the end of the year.
