Band 7.0
Prompt: You have decided to apply for a job advertised in a newspaper. Write a letter to the employer. In your letter: explain which job you are applying for; describe your relevant experience and skills; say when you would be available for an interview.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for the position of Marketing Assistant which was advertised in last Sunday's edition of the Tashkent Times. I believe my background makes me a strong candidate for this role.
For the past two years, I have worked as a part-time content creator for a small online clothing store, where I was responsible for managing social media accounts and writing promotional posts. During this time, I learned how to design simple advertising campaigns and analyse which posts attracted the most customers. I am confident, organised and able to work well under pressure, and I also have a good command of both English and Russian.
In addition to my work experience, I am currently completing a degree in Business Administration, which has given me solid knowledge of marketing principles and consumer behaviour.
I would be delighted to discuss my application in more detail at an interview. I am available on any weekday afternoon after 2 p.m., and I could also attend at the weekend if that is more convenient for you.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully, Dilnoza Rahimova
